About us
Ambleford farm is a registered, family run, smallholding comprising of 6 acres of wild pastures and woodland in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We provide specialist outdoor education and recreational experiences in a woodland and farming environment – including; bushcraft and survival courses, permaculture and eco-living courses, holiday clubs, woodland cookery, wild camping, educational workshops and forest school sessions for children.
The farm is run by the the Bradshaw family who live in the adjoining 17th century Ambleford Cottage, which has been a farm house and smallholding for centuries.
Meet the Team
James Bradshaw
Forest School Leader
James is a qualified Forest School Leader with a passion for the outdoors. He is a skilled leather worker, bush-crafter and all-round practical guy who can turn his hand to anything.
He has an MA in Fine Art and was an internationally exhibited artist and gallery owner for many years. He loves exploring creative artistic expression with children and adults alike.
James is trained in Paediatric First Aid, Forest School First Aid, Emergency First Aid and Outdoor First Aid.
Emily Bradshaw
Qualified Teacher & Safe Guarding Lead
Emily is a teacher, crafter and qualified permaculturalist with a passion for creating sustainable living for her family and passing on this knowledge to others. With nearly 20 years of teaching in a variety of schools behind her, acquiring and passing on knowledge is a part of her day to day life.
Over the last few years sustainability and self-sufficiency have become a way of life, having completed a Permaculture Design Certificate in 2019 which opened her eyes to what steps everyone can do to help live a more sustainable life.
Hannah Archer
Forest School Leader & Teacher
Hannah has been a primary school teacher for 15 years. She has always enjoyed being outdoors and encouraging her classes to enjoy and respect the environment.
Whilst working in Epping, Essex, Hannah was shocked that she was on the outskirts of Epping Forest but not utilising the environment outside the school grounds. She therefore trained as a Level 3 practitioner to run Forest schools in her Early Years classrooms and as a club throughout the school.
Alice Oakley
Forest School Leader
She is a true believer that nature is for everyone and has experience of working with babies through to adults and all ages in-between. She’s happiest when outdoors, encouraging others to explore nature in all its wonder.
Alice is trained in Forest School First Aid, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and is working towards training in Sustainable Woodland Management.
Amelia Weller
Forest School Leader
Amelia is very passionate about the outdoors and has a huge love for plants and trees. She has been working in forest schools for the past 5 years with prior experience working with children and outdoors. She enjoys everything forest school has to offer from escaping into the world of a high energy games or taking mindful moments to look intently at tiny insects running in the moss. Her aim is to build a creative and imaginative space for the learners to feel safe and inspired in. She also loves sharing her knowledge of foraging and bushcraft skills.
Vinny Gledhill
Forest School Assistant
Vinny is deeply passionate about nature, the stewardship of wild spaces, and teaching others about the importance of being outdoors.
She is an avid amateur forager, enthusiastic about bush skills, and has qualifications in leadership, dance, art, and creative writing for therapy.
